October has started mild with a fair bit of rain. Nothing out of the ordinary, I guess, as mild seems to be the “new thing” these days.
My thyme, sage, rosemary, chervil, parsley, lavender, kale, carrots, radishes, horseradish, and corn salad are still growing strong outside.
As for kale and corn salad, this is their best time. And even root veggies are getting a second lease on life.
I have started to make plans for planting garlic, but I will most likely be in late November or early December. Yes, it is milder these days.
So, what’s new for this month? Hydroponics.
This is the time of year when all my DIY creations and the grow systems I have purchased come into their full right.
My iDOO and Click and Grow Smart Garden are up and running. The same goes for my DIY Deep Water Culture and Ebb and Flow systems.
I have bought two inexpensive food-safe buckets at a local hardware store. It cost me the equivalent of 7 USD / 7 EUR / 6 pounds Sterling for both. I plan to shoot a video and show you how easy it is to build a DIY bucket hydroponics system.
